Cast Bronze costumed African dance figure from Burkina Faso I purchased this very interesting bronze figure at a bronze foundry in Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso, in 1995. It was made using the lost wax process. The piece is first sculpted in wax then encased in plaster with drain holes. When heated, the wax melts and drains away leaving a cavity which is then filled with molten bronze. After cooling, the plaster cast is broken, revealing a beautiful bronze sculpture. #YBFB-42
